The Psychology Alumni Advisory Board is pleased to announce a new mentoring initiative. We will be introducing the "First Friday of the Month" series of panel discussions to help current students explore career options. The theme of each panel discussion will be "How do I use my Psychology degree for a career in......." Some amazing alumni have agreed to join our first panel discussion. If you are interested in participating in a future panel discussion contact the current chair of the Mentoring Committee, Larry Moller, at larry@anthemcapitalgroup.com.

At each "First Friday of the Month" event we will also discuss tools, particularly Linkedin, that students can utilize to network with alumni. Our goals are to encourage more students to create a Linkedin account and use it, along with other networking tools,

2015 Career Information Night

2014 Career Information Night

The Department of Psychology would like to invite alumni back to campus on Monday, March 2, 2015 to participate in our annual Career Information Night (CIN). CIN is held from 5:00-6:30pm in the Atrium, located on the first floor of the Psychology Building.

Alumni meet with students on a one-to-one basis and share how a Psychology degree helped shape their career path. Here are some questions that students might ask you to address:

  • How did a Psychology degree help you develop and/or advance in your career?
  • Did you have more than one major or concentration when you were an undergraduate?
  • What experiences did you have outside of the classroom that made a difference in your working life?

The head of the department hosts an alumni dinner at the conclusion of CIN. You will have the chance to chat with the head, staff in the department, Psychology Alumni Advisory Board members, and other CIN alumni participants. CIN is a very enjoyable and rewarding experience from start to finish!

Let Cheryl Berger know if you are interested in being part of CIN. You can reach her at cberger@illinois.edu or (217) 333-3429.

If you cannot come back to campus you can “Share Your Story” with students at:

Share Your Story

Sharing your time and your story will enhance the undergraduate Psychology program at the University of Illinois.
